Tobacco-Related Disparities
The Tobacco-Related Disparities priority area is integrated into each of the other five workgroups to represent the needs and strategies that can effectively impact subpopulations with disparate tobacco initiation and consumption rates. Across each workgroup, members advocate for evidence-based practices that improve the health of all populations. Each workgroup maintains a commitment to identifying and eliminating tobacco-related disparities to decrease the prevalence of combustible tobacco and electronic vapor product use among vulnerable youth and adult subpopulations. They collaborate with communities and local leaders to build support for tobacco prevention and control strategies through the development of media and educational materials, capacity building activities, and the implementation of tobacco free policies.
