Priority Area
Nicotine and Tobacco Cessation
This priority area focuses on increasing quit attempts among smokers especially among communities that are unfairly burdened by commercial tobacco. Tobacco prevention and control partners across the state will collaborate with health care systems and community agencies to reduce barriers to the availability and accessibility of cessation services, expand access to cessation treatments, advance health systems changes, and promote awareness of cessation services.

Note:
- The significant decrease in the proportion of cigarette smokers who reported using evidence-based cessation aids for their quit attempts is attributed to the decrease in the percentage of smokers who report using Nicotine Replacement Therapy and prescription medication.
